TAUW LEGENDS: Dennis R. Neill

The TAUW Legends video series preserves the voices and stories of those who shaped our first century of service. As part of our Centennial celebration, Jesse Boudiette, president of Propeller Consulting and Centennial Committee member, sat down with Dennis R. Neill, who is the namesake of the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center.

Join us in continuing Dennis’ legacy of compassion and community impact. Your gift today in honor of Dennis helps write the next chapter of our story, ensuring that future generations will have access to the same life-changing services that have touched so many lives over the past century.

interview highlights

Jesse Boudiette: Dennis, you’ve been involved in the community and with United Way for a long time. Can you tell us how your involvement with the Tulsa Area United Way first began?

Dennis R. Neill: Well, I’d been aware of everything that the United Way has been doing, and then I had the opportunity to join the board around 2013 or 2014, thanks to an invitation from our longtime community leader and great volunteer with the United Way, Becky Frank.

Jesse: You’ve also spent a fair amount of your career working on the donor side, at the foundation level. Let’s talk a little bit about how the United Way is seen by those who are funding a lot of the wonderful things going on in the community.

Dennis: Well, I think we’ve been very blessed with the United Way over these hundred years to have excellent leaders, committed board members, and a great staff. So together, it’s very easy to participate with them because you know it’s a very professional organization dedicated to helping nonprofits do the best they can to serve the needs of our clients and their clients. The United Way and its many partner agencies are just fundamental in making sure we have a better quality of life in the Tulsa community.
