United Way Centennial Scholarship

Tulsa Community College students and graduates! The new Tulsa Area United Way Centennial Scholarship grants one Tulsa Community College student or graduate $10,000 over two years ($5,000 each year) to continue their college education.

Scholarship Overview

  • Eligibility: This scholarship is exclusively available to Tulsa Community College (TCC) students.
  • Award: The United Way Centennial Scholarship grants a total of $10,000, distributed as $5,000 annually over two years to continue their college education.
  • Candidate Profile: The ideal recipient of the United Way Centennial Scholarship is someone who has a strong connection with TAUW-affiliated nonprofits and also comes from a marginalized or under-resourced community. We are especially committed to supporting students who have faced systemic barriers and challenges, recognizing that their unique perspectives and experiences enrich our community.

Application Process

  • Submission Period: Applications are open from February 15 to March 22, 2024.
  • Award Date: April 5, 2024
  • How to Apply: Submit your application online. Please click the button below to access the submission form.
  • Essay Requirements:
    • Theme: “100 Starts with 1: The Inspirational Impact of the Tulsa Area United Way on My Life and Community.”
    • Word Count: 600 – 1,000 words
  • Evaluation Criteria: Submissions will be assessed by TAUW Centennial Committee volunteers, and TAUW staff. Evaluation will focus on three areas
    • Knowledge of the Theme (30 points)
    • Development of the Theme (35 points)
    • Clarity of Ideas (35 points)
